Community Prayer Breakfast
Bishop Porteus was actively involved in the staging of the 2008 World Youth Day in Sydney. He will speak about the purpose of World Youth Days and will be accompanied by a group of young people who will share their stories of pilgrimage.
When: Friday 13 August, 6.45am for 7 -8.30am

City2Surf
Angela has registered to run in the City2Surf.  You can sponsor her to raise money for the Bible Society to put Bibles into schools.

Loving Muslims through Prayer
You can pray specifically for Muslims worldwide during Ramadan (Aug 11 - Sept 9) by using the booklet “30 days”. Booklets cost $5.  If you would like a copy please give your name and money to a staff member.

Prayer

  • Thank God for the certain hope of resurrection for all who trust Jesus.  Pray that this confidence will energise us to share the good news of the risen Jesus with our friends, neighbours and community.
  • Pray for our outreach events this week - Men and Meat on Friday night and the High Tea on Saturday afternoon.  Pray for Greg and  Lisa  as they speak - that what they say will be clear and helpful as our guests consider the claims of Jesus.
  • Thank God for a 2 year “reprieve” for Anglicare’s Kingsdene Special School.  Pray that staff will be able to continue their work in serving the students and their families.  Pray that a long-term arrangements providing education and care to families in difficult situations will be found.
  • Pray that Obaid and Shamim’s application for refugee status and permanent residency will be dealt with quickly and for a good outcome. Thank God that Red Cross funding has begun.
  • Thank God for the successful CASA day with over 20 children attending.  Thank God for the ministry of the team - pray for follow up through Scripture classes.
  • Ask God to comfort, strengthen and deepen the trust of those who are sick, grieving, or in special need at this time including Vera, Joan, Cath, Betty, Mick, Edie, Jim & Beryl, Thomas & family, Shamim's father.
  • Pray for our missionaries .
